Dear Client,

You can reasonably seek direct financial assistance and support schemes for unemployed or destitute women under Maharashtra state and central government programs. The key scheme that fits your situation is the “Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana” (Ladki Bahin Yojana), under which the Maharashtra government gives ₹1,500 per month to married, divorced, widowed, deserted, and destitute women aged 21–65 whose annual family income is below ₹2.5 lakh. You can apply at your local Municipal Ward Office / Revenue Office in Mumbai with Aadhaar, bank‑passbook, income‑certificate, and proof of residence. If you feel you are “destitute”, you can also inquire about Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, which provides monthly financial help to destitute persons, divorced/abandoned women, and similarly vulnerable groups, subject to age and income‑limits.

On the employment side, the government expects you and others in your position to register as job‑seekers and get an Unemployed Certificate from the Directorate of Employment & Self‑Employment, Maharashtra, which entitles you to counseling, skill‑development programs, and job‑fairs that increase your chances of finding work; you can apply online or at the local Employment Office and keep your MSc/BEd details ready. You may also explore NGOs and training centres in Mumbai that focus on up‑skilling and interview coaching for women, as they often help with tutoring, private tuition, or small entrepreneurship related work.

I hope this helps and if you have any further issues do not hesitate to contact us.

Dear Client,

The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladli Behna Yojana started by the Maharashtra government can be helpful in this situation. Eligible women between the ages of 21 and 65 that live in Maharashtra and who have an annual family income of less than Rs. 2,50,000 will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,500 each. Women who are unmarried, married, divorced, widowed, abandoned, or destitute are all eligible. You can check your eligibility if your family income qualifies, apply through the Anganwadi office near your home or through the Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra in Mumbai.

The Maharashtra Government offers financial assistance to the poor or at-risk women in Maharashtra. This includes aid for women who are divorced, destitute or abandoned. The name of this program is the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana. Each eligible beneficiary gets Rs 600 per month. To help families who have multiple beneficiaries, they will receive a monthly payment of Rs. 900. For beneficiaries eligible for the new Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Pension Scheme (SGNPS), they will also receive direct benefit transfers of Rs. 1500 each month. All recipients must meet residency and destitution standards to receive funds through the program. To qualify for the grant, applications must be submitted through the Tahsildar in the local taluka office in Mumbai. On your employment situation, given your MSc BEd qualifications, register with the Maharashtra Employment Exchange online at mahaswayam.gov.in. Also register on the National Career Service portal at ncs.gov.in. With BEd qualifications specifically, you are eligible to apply for Maharashtra state teacher recruitment examinations. Keep a watch on Mahateacherrecruitment.in for notifications. The Maharashtra Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) also provides skill training and livelihood support to women, I will advise you to contact their Mumbai office for programmes suited to your educational background.

I hope this helps, and if you have any further issues, do not hesitate to contact us.
