Dear Client, as per your query, you should immediately file a Non-Cognizable (NC) Report or a First Information Report (FIR) under Criminal Intimidation under Section 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) (previously Section 503/506 IPC) at your local police station because threats to your physical security are a criminal offense. Provide your recordings as proof and ask the police to take preventive measures to bind these people to ensure peace. At the same time, file a complaint in writing to your Hostel Warden and Anti-Ragging Committee of your college because, under UGC Regulations, it is legally incumbent upon your college to protect you, and they can be held negligent if they don’t act. To further protect yourself, you can also approach the National Anti-Ragging Helpline at 1800-180-5522 or consult a lawyer to obtain a Protective Order under a Magistrate. I hope this answer is helpful. In case of further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank You.
