Dear Client, as per your query, It is not possible for a legal heir to relinquish his/her share in ancestral property just by filing an affidavit. According to the Registration Act, 1908, relinquishment of rights in any immovable property is only possible through a registered document, despite any pending mutations or health conditions. The correct and legal way to do this is through a registered Relinquishment Deed or a Registered Gift Deed. I hope this answer is helpful. In case of further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank You.
