► am writing to formally contest the repeated demand for a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the Accidental Death Benefit claim for my late wife, While the basic death claim has been settled, the accidental benefit remains stalled due to a procedural misunderstanding of police protocols. The death occurred due to a domestic fire accident. Police Findings: Both the Local Police Station and Police HQ have conducted a thorough investigation. Their Final Report explicitly classifies the incident as a "Fire Mishap" with no foul play detected. The Legal Standing: As no cognizable offense occurred, the Police Department has confirmed that under Indian law, an FIR is not required and cannot be registered. Documentation Provided: I have already furnished the Police Final Report (HQ & Local), the Post-Mortem (PM) Report, and the Medicolegal certificate from the hospitalDespite the official Police Final Report stating that no FIR is applicableas there is non-conginable offence detected LIC continues to issue repetitive demands for a document that does not exist. This contradicts the evidence-based findings of the Police HQ and causes undue hardship. Can any expert guide me further on this matter.
