Married women salary

If a husband and in-laws are forcefully demanding or taking the woman’s salary, it is considered a serious offence and amounts to domestic violence under Indian law. A woman’s income is her individual property, and no one, not even her husband, has any right to take it without her consent. This behavior may amount to the following offences: Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (PWDVA): This includes economic abuse, which covers: Forcibly taking her salary, Controlling her financial resources, Spending her income without her permission. Relevant Sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC): Section 498A – Cruelty by husband or in-laws. Section 406 – Criminal breach of trust (forcibly taking her earnings). Section 506 – Criminal intimidation (if threats are used).
