► Hello.I paid around ₹1.5 lakh to Dev Samaj Hostel, Sector 36, Chandigarh. I originally took the hostel because I was studying at MCM DAV College, but I have now left MCM and joined Chandigarh University, which is too far from the hostel. I therefore need to leave and find accommodation near my new college.
I understand the prospectus says the fee is non-refundable, but the hostel has told me they will refund only if I find another student to take my place. I would like to know whether I can legally claim a refund for the unused period.
Please guide me on what I can do.
