Dear Client,

If your father was a Government employee and his service records mention only his first wife and son, your name may be added only after establishing that you are his legally recognised child.
You should collect your birth certificate, father's death certificate, proof of your relationship with him, his service records and other supporting documents.
Since your father died in 2020, the concerned department/pension authority should be approached with a written application requesting correction or inclusion of your name, as applicable.
If there are pension, family pension, gratuity or other service benefits involved, your eligibility will depend upon the applicable service rules and your status at the relevant time.
If the department refuses to recognise your claim, you may seek appropriate legal remedy after obtaining the written decision and reasons for refusal.
The fact that you are the child of your father's second wife does not by itself prevent you from establishing your legal relationship with your father, but the relevant documents must be verified.
You may opt for a one-on-one consultation with our office for review of your father's service records and your supporting documents.

Hope this clarifies your position.
