Sometimes the husband may refuse to appear in court or deliberately delay proceedings.
In that case:

The court can proceed ex parte (without his participation) after giving due notice.

If the wife proves her grounds, the court can still grant divorce unilaterally. The wife has to establish her stand if husband contest the divorce case.

Wife has to contest the divorce case if husband donot agree for divorce by mutual consent.
