Send a Strong Legal Warning (Very Effective)
Send a message/email like: “All further communication must be in writing. Harassment, abuse, or contacting my family members will result in police complaint under IPC and RBI guidelines.”
This often reduces harassment immediately.
You can complain to:
1. Cyber Crime Portal
- National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal
(Choose: Financial Fraud / Loan App Harassment)
2. RBI Complaint (if NBFC/Bank involved)
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI) CMS Portal
Dear Client,
Recovery agents can ask for repayment, but they cannot abuse, threaten, or harass you or your senior citizen father, and they should not keep contacting relatives to pressurize you. First, save proof of every call, WhatsApp message, SMS, and number, then send one written complaint to the lender’s grievance officer asking them to stop third-party contact and harassment immediately, and if it continues, file a complaint on the RBI CMS portal and, if there are direct threats, also make a police complaint for criminal intimidation.
