► I've paid for a product from a retail shop and then cancelled it the day after. They are telling me to purchase something else and can't give refund. Is it fair?

Hello,
All this depends on the company policy. Some companies refund some just ask you to purchase another product, the amount need not be paid by you if your purchase is not over and above the purchase order you cancelled.
Say you cancelled a product of Rs. 100/-
You purchased another product of Rs. 110/- you pay Rs. 10 extra
You can also purchase various products and the sum total (less) 100/- is what you pay.
