Dear Sir,
An extended warranty is treated as a contractual offer — not an obligation.
It becomes legally binding once:
The company offers it with clear terms and conditions, and
The customer accepts it and pays (if required).
This falls under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 (Sections 2 & 10 — offer, acceptance, consideration, and lawful object).
Hello,
Any product comes with a stipulated warranty.
Subject to certain payments or some special packages or some incentives on occasions, the service providers offer something which is called “Extended Warranty” this period is over and above the normal warranty period and remains valid till the time the period of extended warranty is not over.
Say normal warranty is of 6 months. Extended Warranty of 3 months. You have a total warranty of 9 months from the date of purchase and can legally avail the warranty benefits during such time.
