Dear Client,
In the event that the leave and licence agreement remains valid till 10 October 2026, then it becomes impossible for the landlord to forcibly oust you from the premises or harass you as he will have to go by the law and the due process of eviction if any rent is due. While it is true that you will continue to be responsible for paying any overdue rent as per the agreement, the landlord is not in his rights to intimidate, threaten, or harass you and your family into leaving the rented property. In case there are videos or other proof of such harassment, ensure that these are saved. In case the local police do not cooperate and are biased in their actions, you may make a complaint in writing to the senior police authorities.
I hope this helps and if you have any further issues do not hesitate to contact us.
Dear Client, Even if rent is pending, your landlord cannot harass you or forcibly evict you without following the due process of law. Since your leave and licence agreement is valid until 10 October 2026, the landlord should take legal action if they wish to recover possession before that date. Preserve the videos and any other evidence of the alleged harassment. If the police are not accepting your complaint or are not acting fairly, you may approach higher police authorities or the appropriate court. Do not sign any undertaking to vacate the premises unless you understand its legal consequences or have obtained legal advice. At the same time, you should make genuine efforts to clear the pending rent or resolve the dispute amicably, if possible.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further queries or need assistance.
